my Path to coaching

DIFFERENT CHAPTERS OF MY LIFE HAVE GRADUALLY SHAPED THE WORK I DO TODAY

I moved out on my own as a senior in high school and soon after found my way into the insurance industry, a field that offered endless opportunities for growth. Throughout my 22-year career in insurance, I often caught myself saying, “I don’t know what I want to do when I grow up.” And I truly meant it. While I enjoyed my work, I couldn’t shake the sense that I was being pulled toward something more personally meaningful.

What brought me to Coaching

As my career progressed, I naturally gravitated toward mentoring others, which led to leadership opportunities. In my pursuit of becoming the best leader I could be, I began working with coaches myself, deepening my commitment to personal development.

About two years later, I was offered a larger leadership role. As the conversations progressed, I felt my energy and passion fading. The increasing business operations responsibilities were pulling me away from what I valued most—supporting my team in a way that truly made a difference.

It became clear that supporting others couldn’t just be part of what I do—it needed to be all of what I do. With that realization, I began transitioning my skills and experience into a coaching practice of my own.

How My Path Shapes My Work

Looking back, the path to coaching makes more sense to me now than it did while I was living it. My professional life taught me how much I value helping people think through complicated situations, see possibilities they may not yet see for themselves, question assumptions, challenge the status quo when needed, and move forward with greater clarity. My personal life taught me something equally important: our choices rarely exist in isolation. They are shaped by our relationships, the roles we have learned to play, the experiences we carry, and the stories we have come to believe about ourselves.

That understanding is central to how I coach today

In my coaching work, I focus on identity, relationships, career, and intentional living, with particular attention to the patterns and experiences that shape how we move through our lives.

I believe many of the roles we learn to play early in life—the responsible one, the caretaker, the peacekeeper, the achiever, the independent one, even the difficult one—can become so familiar that we carry them into adulthood without realizing how much they continue to shape us. They can influence the relationships we choose, what we believe we are responsible for, what we tolerate, how we show up at work, and even how we understand ourselves.

If you’re trying to untangle something in your own life and my approach resonates with you, I’d welcome the opportunity to connect, hear what you’re navigating, and explore what might come next.

Training & Education

I share my life with my best friend—and most intimidating chess opponent—and two Min Pins who are considerably more famous on Instagram than I’ll ever be. I’m the sister of two amazing guys who survived my braces-and-headgear era and, remarkably, don’t use it against me. And I’m a lifelong animal lover and advocate who believes the animals we share this planet with deserve our compassion and respect.
